Hunting Latch

Typically used on gates that need to be access from horseback, these are traditionally used on hunting routes. They are most popular nowadays for gates on to or from riding arenas. They are excellent for allowing gates to swing a full 180 degrees from the hang post. Please note that these fittings are stiff to start off with as they are sprung mild steel.
It comes with as standard a fitting that allows only 90 degrees access from the post but an additional part can be added to allow 180 degree access. Please see the ‘hunting latch clip’ below in the related products.

Description
Measuring 580mm tall the main part of the latch is easily access from horseback, although you will need a steady horse and a strong arm until the latch has bedded in. The main part of the latch is normally slightly curved towards the most popular side of the gate to make access a little easier.
